      Magneto electro elastic solids are a class of new multifunctional composites. The novel characteristic and basic equations of magneto electro elastic solids are briefly introduced. The research progress of elastic waves (surface waves, interfacial waves and guided waves, etc.) propagating in magneto electro elastic materials or structures is reviewed.
