      The translation of idioms with cultural connotation is the most important and difficult part in idiom translation and a key factor to successful cross cultural communication. The paper carefully studies what proper strategies can be applied to the idiom translation from English to Chinese from a new perspective of cultural matching through detailed analysis of English idioms and comparative study of two cultures. As a result, teachers of English language can remove cultural barriers and improve their teaching in idiom translation.
